The idea behind the Simple Instruction Set was to create a limited set of commands that would be easy to remember, easy to use, and would work with a wide variety of Extron products. Three main factors make the Simple Instruction Set superior for RS-232 remote control: characters can be generated directly from the keyboard, the same instruction works with many products, and it provides informative responses to each command sent. Some good and some bad, try to keep it civilized.The first thing that makes the Simple Instruction Set easy to use is it consists entirely of characters which can be generated straight from a PC keyboard.
